3 Lessons from A Personal Trainer

3 Lessons I Learned From A Personal Trainer

1️⃣ STOP GUESSING 🛑

I used to go to the gym without any real direction, guessing my weights and reps, and wondering why I wasn’t making progress. My trainer taught me that tracking is everything. If you don’t know your numbers, you lack clarity and can’t see the roadmap to improvement. Stop guessing and start measuring!

2️⃣ REST AND REFUEL 🍽️

It’s easy to think you have to be 100% strict, but your willpower isn’t endless. A well-timed cheat meal helps you refuel and avoid discipline burnout. Think of it as a pit stop—rest, recover, and keep going! I always used to overdo it to get results fast, but that mindset will not work long term! Also, let your muscles rest! It’s a crucial part of the process and if you don’t acknowledge it, you are delaying progress!

3️⃣ PACE YOURSELF 👟

Coming from a background in soccer and high-intensity workouts, I used to rush through weightlifting. Big mistake… Weightlifting is about control and pacing. My trainer showed me how slowing down between sets and focusing on form gave me better, longer-lasting results. More isn’t always better—sometimes you need to go slow to get strong.

These simple but powerful shifts have made all the difference!
